Post mint damage or laminating error?

Found this from a stockpile of wheat cents. I am not sure if it is post mint or what would have caused this strange damage.

Sorry I forgot to post the picture! It is right side up only phone so it should be correct on here.

I don't know why it posts them sideways. It is correct on my phone.

Basically, it is post mint damage. Someone had too much time on their hands. There is nothing in the minting process that would make this damage. Even so, the pattern is pretty cool.

I wasn't sure at all bob. It caught my eye and I set it aside. Figured I'd ask.

That is definitely better than any of the strange ones I have seen. Even after I had been here long enough to know that the really weird stuff is usually PMD, I still post some of them just because they are cool looking and I have that faint idea that "maybe" it is something else besides PMD. I guess it takes a while before you truly know the difference.

On your photos, maybe if you shoot them one quarter turn "counter clockwise" they will post the right way. Sorry you are having problems with that, like someone said it must be the smartphone thing.

Yeah PMD all day.... I'd guess a file but I don't what to speculate why someone would want to damage a coin...

It doesn't look filed. More like a cut and it's bent all up. The metal was shifted instead of being taken off. As to why someone would I have no idea either. I have some with holes but this is the most radical.
