    Struck trough or garage.

    Here is what i think is a 1931/7 S you can see a faint 7 where it has a deep gouge. Also there is more on reverse that makes me think this has to be manufactured. Had to ask. Thanks

    The obverse rim damage tells me that this is likely PMD, and the reverse marks pretty much confirm that IMO.

        Hard to tell without close up pics but the style of the 3 may rule out being a 1931.

        In CDs book in the 1931 section, it shows the 3 style of a 1931 compared to the 3 style of a 1936.

          I'd be cautious about introducing (statistically very unlikely) hope here, there seems to be plenty in the air already! The OP was inquiring about the damage on the coin, I agree that it is a damaged cent from the 1930s, no TPG will ever say more than that.

          One would have to have conclusive proof, like obvious die markers to make such a claim valid. Anything less is eBay fodder.
