Here is what i think is a 1931/7 S you can see a faint 7 where it has a deep gouge. Also there is more on reverse that makes me think this has to be manufactured. Had to ask. Thanks

The obverse rim damage tells me that this is likely PMD, and the reverse marks pretty much confirm that IMO. -

I'd be cautious about introducing (statistically very unlikely) hope here, there seems to be plenty in the air already! The OP was inquiring about the damage on the coin, I agree that it is a damaged cent from the 1930s, no TPG will ever say more than that.
