http://www.lincolncentresource.com/s...smalldate.html ... Take a look at this link... Yours appears to be a large... The inside loop on the 9 points down toward the MM... On the small date that inside loop will point at the 7... Hope that helps!!!

It's actually easier than you think to tell them apart. The 1970-S Small Date's "7" looks extremely high when compared to a Large Date and the tops of the date on a Small Date form a straight line across. If there is even a small discrepancy in the straight line then it is a Large Date. There is no in between which is what I think throws most people.
For me the easy way to tell is the 9, the inside curl of the SD points at the 7 and it is pointed. On the LD it points downward and is blunt, no point.
On the SD LIBERTY is weak, on most LD it's strong. On the SD the date is more level, on the LD the 7 is lower. On the LD the 0 is less round and more bulged on top. On the LD the 7 is bigger and has a crease at the intersection.
On this coin the 9s curl is blunt and points downward and LIBERTY is not weak and all the other LD attributes so it's a LD.
