1955 cents with matching depressions on both coins

When I found the first coin I thought it was a Small Lamination Crack with a chunk of coin metal missing. Then I found a second so that ruled that out. Could it be coins that were struck through the same miscellaneous object? The depression matches on both coins.

I agree. I think the foreign object stuck to the die for these two. Though one might expect a distortion from the first to the second strike (in theory, anyway).

I believe you may be right....I had a pair of memorial cents once that I thought the same thing had happened....there's a thread here somewhere but I can't remember what to look for.

Nice find and they do look the same... Did you look for any other die markers???
