Value of UNC 1943 DDO #1 Lincoln cent?

About 10 years ago, I cherry picked this coin from teletrade for less than $20. It is clearly a 1943 DDO #1 Lincoln cent. The coin would grade a solid MS64 if not for the reverse damage. The doubled die can be perfectly seen on this example.

Does anyone have an idea of the value of this coin? I'm considering selling it (ie engagement ring) and would likely want to sell it within the next month. I saw some examples on ebay for sell around $2,000, but those did not have any damage.

Is my estimated value of $750 too high? I'm trying to find comparable sales but I can't find anything. Thanks!

It really depends on if the buyer is willing to pay the premium for a coin with environmental damage. It's all about eye appeal. Me personally I would rather pay $750 for a MS-60 with no environmental damage than a MS-64 with environmental damage. Again that's just me. You could always test the waters a bit and put it on eBay with a reserve of $750 and see where it goes.

I would say $700 is way too high.....there are several examples being offered on eBay for less than that right now and they are problem free. Did you see one actually sell for $2K or was somebody just asking an outrageous amount ? Big difference.

I think a full 65 problem free in a PCGS holder would command between $750-1000. Maybe less nowadays.
The variety market has really bottomed out in my opinion, and a "details" coin is probably going to bring very little, probably around 40-50 dollars even "unc. details."

I agree with Dennis, the market is a mess. Outside of some new varieties, which themselves has a window before prices fall, everything is at best 50% of where they were 2007-09. That 1943 UNC Details would probably go for $50, maybe $75 on a good day. Could even go for less on a bad day.
