    1969 D Lincoln DDR

Hi everyone! I've not been collecting for very long, but have ramped in sorting through a couple boxes of pennies every month, looking for errors, and die varieties. Not real closely, just kind of looking at the cherrypickers list and only putting about 10% of the coins under magnification. I think I may be on my fourth box, and came across this cent that I wanted to get an opinion on. I've not found much info on google, and don't see it listed in any of the top 50's... but I was wondering if this would be worth sending out tonhave graded? Thanks for any input!

Could you please tell us what you think is doubled? I can't make out anything as the photos are too small.

I see doubling on the "United States of America," here's a better picture I think.

Welcome to the forum! Sorry to say, but you just have machine doubling, also called strike doubling. The "doubling" cuts into the regular size of the device. However, taking a close look like this is the way to find true doubled dies. Keep up the hunt and good luck.

Thats good to know. So I take it there is no reason to send it off for certification? I'll just put it aside as a conversation piece.

Correct, there is no reason to send it off. Machine doubling generally carries no premium and is a common occurrence.

Welcome aboard and just keep at it....you'll find something eventually. And when you do, we'll let you know if it's worth sending to a TPG although it does take quite a bit of searching to find one that does. It's best to do this as a hobby and consider any profit as a side effect
