It's no big deal. I tried several times to take a better shot but it will require a microscopic shot. Thanks for the feedback.
You are welcome Alex, unfortunately we can't see what you are seeing up close on the coin. We all have dealt or are currently dealing with the same thing when trying to get better close up photos. Hang in there!

Yep, I really need to get a USB microscope. I was going to do a vid showing that DD but sure enough it was a reflection. It's a bit frustrating trying to see these details with just a phone. Thanks for the comments. Nonetheless, I like my pretty 71 penny

Thanks VAB. That's a very good link and info. I don't take offense to any of the comments. I just get a little frustrated with myself for not properly debunking it. I just believed what appeared to be in that photo.

Okay, so when you were taking the video you noticed that the O of ONE was actually a reflection? Yes, at different angles and lighting a normal coin will sometimes look like a doubled die. Join our club, even some members with nice equipment set ups have to deal with this on an ongoing basis! We understand your frustration!

You are welcome Alex! That is what we do around here, everybody is still learning... you never get to the point of knowing everything about Lincoln Cents. We have many very qualified members and if we get a real tough coin, our pros are just a message away.

Don't worry about it! I just posted a 1964 the other day thinking I was seeing doubling on the 4 in the date. Bob and Viv let me know pretty quick it wasn't a Doubled Die but instead a Master Die Issue.
Like Viv said we are all still learning. There are very few pros on here and even they sometimes see new things on here. Don't be hard on yourself, just keep looking!
