Ok came across this and asking (nicely) lol. What are your thoughts. I'm thinking machine doubling. Liberty is the only thing doubled as far as I've seen either side.
Thank you in advance.171106_225920.jpg171106_230011.jpg
Still, if you take some good big pics of liberty and put it on ebay and say it's MD someone might buy it for more than some doubled dies sell for. It's the sort of thing that has no value to some of us but some bidders might fight over it because it's pretty extreme and on a 69-S even though that date is full of MD
Yeh, I've come to realize that, for me anyway, the more obvious something is, the more likely it is to be MD of one sort or another.
It has taken me at least five years of pretty intense and obsessive collecting/searching to pick out the subtle clues that help answer questions I come up with for certain coins.
I can't begin to imagine all the "valuable" (yeh right ) LC I have stashed away from just a couple of years ago.
I'm pretty confident they are at least copper!
Okay awesome . Thanks for info. It definitely made me do a double take. Lol. I'm currently going thru a giant safe full of pennie rolled coins, proof sets and a million other coins for my father in law as he's collected for 40 years and never checked anything so im a kid in a candy store thats for sure. Lol.

Sounds like you'll be busy.
You're going to have a lot people here drooling at the thought of a 40 year old stash!
And best of luck with your eyesight with so many to look at.

Wow, that sounds like it's going to be great fun! Glad you are part of the group here so we can see what you find in that safe!
I will definitely keep you posted!! I was just floored when he said it had never been searched for varieties. That's kinda like getting a pony as a kid and never getting to ride it!! Lol
Excellent call on the MD... You will learn ins and outs and frustration will run rampant... Just remember we will help you the best we can... We have all been where you are now!!!
Jim (A.K.A. Elmer Fudd) Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!
Thanks guys. I appreciate it. I had a silly thought. If you got a tattoo of a Lincoln cent, what year and variety would you choose? Can only pick one. GO!!
