Thank you very much Peter! Since Master Die Doubling is not a Variety, can we please get Bob's list moved to Error Attributions. I believe MDD is considered to be a Die Error so people would probably think to look there in the future. Appreciate your help very much!

A doubled die is a variety....master or working Errors are generally one of a kind, varieties are on the die and repeat coin after coin....hope that splains it, Lucy

Well--it actually is considered a variety although a minor one at best and not valuable isn't it? Roger moved the sticky to that Forum earlier today for that reason. I also want to expand on that post to explain what MDD is and isn't. Many users go to the VA section and seeing it there also with a list of dates might help ID a coin in hand. If you don't know what MDD is but see a date from the list would it help you dispel the idea that you actually have a high priced and rare variety? Again, I'm fine keeping it there and expanding upon it.

Now do we want to have a discussion on wether its a minor variety or die error or whatever? Let's open another thread and rip into it by all means!!

Thank you Peter. Actually I found the information I was going on, on another site because I wasn't sure. See what happens when we stray... not a good idea! Thank you for fixing this!

Jim, that would be nice. We have photos of 72 MDD and maybe some of the others, but we'd have to hunt for the threads

I think coins in an Unc or AU state would be the best for samples???
