I'm new to the forum(this is my first time posting) but I use Lincoln Cent Resource any time I need more information about pennies.I was looking through some rolls Santa brought me and I found a 2014 penny that sure looks like a double die(for lack of a better term). I'm wondering if this is a known variety, did I find something new, Is this one of those super rare pennies with only a few examples? Of course there is always a chance its nothing at all and I have a bit of wishful thinking. But it sure does look like a DDO. The date and Liberty are strongest but you can see it in IN GOD WE TRUST as well.

I might have found something! Maybe?

Agree, it's a nice DDO.
That that variety ddo-003 has sort of a recess around the 14 that also shows in the posted coin. It makes it easy to spot it but I'm not sure what causes that or if it's at all related to the DDO. There was also an 06 DDO that has a similar effect on liberty that made it easy to spot. Does anyone know what causes those recessed areas?Comment

To me those recessed areas look like pressure ridges due to excess pressure in those spots... Almost as if the dies were stuck and suddenly jumped like an earth quake does!!!Jim
