    2000 filled dates

Back in 2000 I put away 500 rolls of of new 2000 pennies. As I was going through one of the rolls recently I found that the date started disappearing. I found 2000's of course, 200's, 20's 2's and then blank dates. Has anyone else heard of this or how you would value them?

Sounds like you are describing a struck through filled die (greaser). Does the rest of the coin look normal?

Struck Through Filled Die: The most common form of struck through, a cent that is struck though a filled die will have missing or weak design elements. Since that portion of the die is filled or clogged with grease or dirt, that portion of the design will not be struck on the coin. Although this can affect any portion of a coin, some of the more well-known instances in the Lincoln series are the 1922 “Weak D” cents, as well as some of the “no FG” cents.

That is a neat find, I find singles but never a bunch from the same rolls that had progression of filling or clearing.
That would be neat if you can see a marker to know they are the same die then find 5-10 examples as it progresses.
I've never seen anyone put together a set of pics like that, it would be neat.
If I had had a bunch I'd probably give a few to one of the really got photographers on here to get some pics.

To answer some questions, I didn't notice any wide AMs, and the rest of the coin looks normal. To the other, I took a group of them showing the progression to a coin dealer friend of mine. He thought they were cool, but had no idea on how to value them, or if there were enough to create a population like the '22 plain. I found those all in one roll. I have 499 rolls left to check, lol. Now i just have to find the set I loaned to my buddy.

Filled dies (other than 22 plains LOL) don't have a big premium.
Reason being that the filled D created a plain and they made a hole for it in folders.

If you had enough to put together sets of a few progressing they might get some buyers on ebay.
