Don't think anyone would spend time and effort to fake a 1909 VDB (unless it is and S). And if it was an S, the rascal would certainly not have missed the need for dots. Probably grease filled die is the cause.

      Welcome to the forum.
Good image. Not sure if that could be from a clogged die filling the dots.
Can you post an image of the front?

That’s because you guys are using an internet platform that was outdated in 1985. It won’t let me add any more photos for whatever reason.

No need for that type of comments here. We are all just trying to help each other out.

Well, we have quite a few members that did learn to use it successfully, maybe try asking for help ? As for the coin, the initials do look correct in placement and shape....grease filled is the likely culprit.

I do apologize for the snip. Someone suggested that it has been altered by adding the VDB? If so that’s impressive .. I don’t think I could hold my hands steady enough to do something like that. Thanks for the help guys !

Judging by the reverse, looks to be a nice coin.

It has something weird going on with the left wheat, notice the 2 lines nearest the rim, they sort of break up and then vanish then part of that line on the edge is disconnected and shifted towards the rim. I'm not sure what's going on there plus there are some raised things and maybe little lamination right there on the rim. It's either from lamination or something weird going on.

Hmmm, now that you mention it...

same thing with the base of the right stalk and the VDB seems off-center and maybe a bit far from the rim [or maybe the rim is thicker and just blends in with the face of the coin].

edit: Looks like spacing would be correct with the periods included.
