Not often we get to see an ear on a circulated cent that has not been worn flat... Cool... A normal ear... Pics look pretty good... A little glare but not to bad!!!
Jim (A.K.A. Elmer Fudd) Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!
Sorry Adrian... not this time but hope there's a 97 doubled ear in your near future! One thing I noticed is... on your pics there looks to be a darker brown outline around the exterior of the ear and also on the lobe. This could be where the coin didn't take a hit, but got just enough circulation wear (rubbing) to make it look questionable under the scope.
Cliff, the edge was a bit confusing for me, like Jon mentioned and wanted to be sure. Jim, this is one of the 97's I have kept for my Ed system because of it's condition and little wear, probably why the ear is so sharp and my confusion... I saw the ear in one of the links you posted somewhere and got courious if i had it, so I decided to search my 97s and that one looked kind of dufferent...;but it's not the duobled ear...
Thanks to all,
Adrian

Yes... sometimes I start a post and something happens to sidetrack me.. this time it was Rose our Chow, making a funny noise at something she saw out the window LOL
I've noticed with my scope that sometimes light contact marks or rubs on the coin causes a sort of discoloration look... and the discoloration can give the image somewhat of a 3D look to it (like a step down) when really it's just causing an illusion. Kinda tricky like that!
