    im just curious how it got so yellow, wouldnt the acetone over night take some paint off.maybe its an oil based paint? im gonna post some new pics with my scope prolly later.

      Acetone should remove latex or oil based paint from metal. Not so much with epoxy type finishes.

              If it is just to satisfy your curiosity and you're not worried about damaging it further (recolored is PSD) you an try something like Citrustrip stripping gel.

                    You can try a paint stripper but that will most likely cause other coin issues... All up to you tho... I do not think it is paint tho... Unless the individual that turned the color was a professional the coloring is to evenly distributed???
