Does this appear to be a doubled die? I just cant seem to get a grasp on these. I know there is some machine doubling but some of it looks different. The left side of the y is thicker than the right and the date is thicker, at least that's what I see lol but that aint saying much
You have the glare happening on this one too and I know it's hard not to with the shiny shields. I'm not 100% sure but it looks like the WWHO-001 which doubling due to a doubled working hub. You may have an actual doubled die but unfortunately there could be millions of these. Also check out WDDO-006, LIBERTY does not look quite right but the date and what's going on around it looks very similar. Markers are very important on some of these 2017P Doubled Dies because they are so tough. Check out the link and report back to us! Link (http://doubleddie.com/2318537.html)
I really don't know on this one.
It could all be glare but the first image looks to have notching on the 201 on the upper right and maybe even on the lower left bar of the 7.
Unfortunately the images are limited a Wexler's site. Only showing ERTY on the doubled working hub examples.
Does anyone know of an in depth study of the two 2017p doubled working hub styles, with nice images(similar to the VV images for 1972 Master Die doubling)
It sounds like Wexler only uses the thickness of the upper "Y" of LIBERTY as a consideration.
Thanks.
Edit: Dearing, can you get an image of any cracks or die chips along the top of the shield on the reverse. Those cracks and chips make great markers.

That notch in the upper right corner is all I saw going on in the top of the shield
Okay... what you can try is to cut a piece of white paper into a circle the size of your scope (you can just trace around that clear plastic piece) and then cut a hole in it (like a donut). The hole will need to be just big enough for the lens because if you make the center hole too large, then too much light will get through. Get some scotch tape and tape that paper onto the bottom of the scope. That should help dim the LED lights. You can try different thickness of paper, index card, etc. and see what might help the best.

Usually the top west (left) side of the shield is where you will find your markers. Check out the listings again and you will see what I'm talking about. Wexler (http://doubleddie.com/2318537.html)
