    1982 Lincoln Error Coin

I found this coin some time ago in a roll. I haven't been able to get a second opinion. I've been collecting off and on over the years and this is the first error coin. I'm hoping that someone may have an idea of where to go to determine a value . I was also planning on sending this to be graded. I tried loading a couple pics but to no avail. It appears to be a 1982 large cent. There is no striking on the back. The coin is completely hollow on the back. Somehow it missed part of the minting process. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The loading process is not too hard but if you can't do it, email me with your pics and I'll put them up for you. Here is my profile (http://www.lincolncentforum.com/foru...5777-makecents), email me at your leisure.

    Thanks, Jon.

          Good thought Will.
Wonder if it could be an early stage die cap? Where the obv. would be strong but the reverse almost non existent
Hopefully they figure out how to post images.

                    Thanks Jon,

After looking at some of the other replies, this appears to be what they call a magician"s coin. Don't know if it has any value. However, for my next trick … lol.

                    Thanks, Ron

No problem Ron, anything we can do to help, just let us know. Unfortunately you have made our house GENIUS' head a little larger though....

If you see machining lines then you know they hollowed it out.
Sometimes they made 2 headed coins or sometimes it was a trick where a dime can hide in the cent so it vanishes.

I've seen a lot of wheat cents where they simply filed one side then glued a filed down dime on one side and they didn't machine them, only filed and glued.

Here is a machined magic coin:
