1972-S, again trouble with MMS styles

    1972-S, again trouble with MMS styles

    The mint mark on this 72 doesn't look completely like mms-008, as seen on varietyvista. The bottom, a little, but the top inner curve resembles mms-002 (not the whole thing).
    Kindda puzzled. Maybe deterioration is bluring my vision?

    It is normal. The top serif took a hit, smashing it a little, which explains the distortion of the top loop. Otherwise, there is also some MD.

        That does look like a combo... Cool... Between being smashed and circ wear the ocerall appearance will change over time... Not easy some times to tell if it is a correct MM for the date!!!
