    The 1928-D: 1DR-001 [and WDDO-001] vs. DDR-001

Does anyone know if these are the same or different varieties?

DDR-001 only shows the earliest stage while CopperCoins shows only the mid state -- CC and Wexler both only mention each other as cross-references.

The class vi descriptions are similar for all three and the overlay I did shows the mintmark positions line up.

They are the same variety. The one listed in coppercoins was actually an EMDS specimen, but we only listed EDS, MDS and LDS.

T, the mint mark placement and design look the same on CC and VV, but W doesn't show a date and MM pic. So if W's specimen has the same mintmark placement and look as CC and VV, then I would say they are all the same DDR variety. My logic may well be faulty but that's how I see it. Larry

I'm with you Larry, my thoughts too -- It's just that the plate coins and my coins have a good bit of circulation wear that might provide a doubt.
Just wanted to hear it from an expert [because we all know what happens when we assume...].
