    Question about dark cents

I am new to this group, so forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong forum. I have a couple examples of cents that have dark (nearly black) color. Otherwise the details are good. How much does this odd coloring affect value? Should I be thinking of replacing them?
Thank you very much in advance for any advice.

I have a feeling that if & how much the darker coloring affects value is subjective.

Personally I like the darker coloring over, say, a "woody". I believe both are do to the 'metallurgic mix' of the bronze.

Both could just be from time and exposure but will let the pros chime in, as to the why. I think they are both very nice looking coins though. I know many like their "reds" but have always liked coins of this nature, that have a little unique color, they seem warmer to me.

The 23S seems to have splotches of grey/black. That one may have been through a fire.

I like the dark tone of the 11D but think it has been cleaned.

Both coins look to me to have been cleaned. Neither has a "natural" look. Just my opinion based on the photos. Nice pics, by the way. Welcome to the forum.
