1971 D no fg cracked head

1971 D memorial.. looks to be a Crack starting at WE going down to behind ear ....on reverse there's no FG,

I cannot tell if the crack reaches the rim or not but does not appear to. Here is a link to what are called "spike heads" to check out, there were several for that year/mm. As for the FG, it looks to have been polished away. There looks to have been a lot of polishing of this die, judging from the thinness of other devices on the reverse. Cool find though.

I agree. The die crack near WE is common and the coin shows the die has been heavily polished wiping out the FG on the reverse. Thanks for sharing. It's always fun and interesting to see the different anomalies people find.
