    DDO or die flash ? (1960-D)

    This has me stumped.

    Optically, through a high quality 10X jewlers triplet, the large date over the small date is quite distinct, with no reasonable doubt; however, when I try to photographic using digital microscope (low end) I loose the feature.

    So, what do you think, is it a DDO or is it flash from the die process?

    Any ideas?

    I do not think this is the small over large date DDO. I'm also leaning towards it not being a DDO at all. I do think it might be a minor RPM though.

      Master die issue on the date I would think. Not sure about the MM, looks like there might be a split to the SW.

        Thanks for the feedback. I am a newbie of sort, what do you mean by MM? I figure the SW, that your are referring to the direction of a die movement?

        BTW: Nice coin from the East as your embem.

            MM = mint mark

            RPM = repunched mint mark

            The MM on your coin may have some minor splits on both serifs indicating a RPM. Its a little hard to tell from the pics though.

              I agree, there's the normal master die doubling on the date, I see a hit on the 1 and the 0...not sure about it being an RPM or not - we would need bigger pics of just the mintmark...

                Rpm ??

                Here are some pics of only the MM. These are diffent coins -returned the original to the roll but they are all the same.

                I doubt that this is an RPM - your opinion please. My scope does not go up any further.
