    its looks like a large date Harry

    another indicator is the "LIBERTY" on how well struck it is

    look at this web page from this site - Snowman

    Information about the 1970S small date Lincoln cent variety.

      Its definately a large date 1970-S. The nine in your pics is a clear diagnostic for this.

            The thing that had me confused is that the bottom of the 7 is cut off or something.

                The 9 is the best indicator of a LD, it has to be correct before checking the 7 or LIBERTY

                  I agree. The 9 tells the whole story. It is a little tougher to see on Proofs, but on business strikes I only need to look at the nine.
