1944P DDO Date???

    1944P DDO Date???

    Here is a 1944P that appears to be DD on the Date... As usual I'm no pro...LOL!!!

    Jim,
    1944 does have master die doubling on a great percentage of all the cents minted that year. I can't quite tell if this is one of them.

        The lighting and angle in your pictures is very good; I just think you have reached the limits of the macro range on your camera. Try holding a loupe over the lens of the camera (meanwhile using a tripod for stabilization) to zoom in on a detail or two. It takes practice, but eventually some decent results can be achieved. In the Camera Thread there are a few cheap setups; the other Jason's setup seems particularity efficient and effective without being cost prohibitive.

        From what I see here it could be a Bob stated the normal quirks of the date and maybe a touch of die wear turning into DDD on the last 4.

          Thanks Jason... I have tried the loupe but my hand moves to much to get a clear picture... The tripod works great... LOL... I will check out the camera threads!!!

            I would like to buy one that doesn't display the Master Die Doubling. I've never seen one that didn't.
