    1990 mm

Were all 90's engraved or did this one fly over the coo-coo's nest? I see the split plating. The rotation and faint split in the top serif causes the question.

All '90s coinage was made from the galvano, then lathed to a master die - no engraving that I know of. That includes the MMs. This is probably MD and a little PMD...

My understanding is that until '94 the master die was engraved with the MM and it was added to the galvano starting '94. Either way your analysis is probably correct.

The MMs were punched until 1989, after that they were placed on a galvano...unless all the literature I have read is wrong...of course I wasn't there when it happened...LOL

It appears to be alot of wear causing the metal to roll and flatten out... That LC has probably been from one end of the US and back again... Several times... LOL!!!

Just looks like basic machine doubling to me.
