The one think also to remember is that the motto, the date and the L of LIBERTY are all closer to the rim on the large dates of the 1974 and the 1982. Also, the 4 of the 1974 and the 2 of the 1982 are different font styles.

I always thought this was the easiest way to tell the difference on the 74's. A quick look at the motto and job done.
