    Don't be fooled by MD

When you are looking to attribute a class iv ddo just understand what MD looks like and how to tell the difference.

In the attached pic, you might be fooled into thinking it is the 1942-S DDO-1 if you just take a quick glance at it, but note that the doubling that the MD creates is not precisely the doubling on the variety. I have arrows pointing to MD that [somewhat] mimics the actual ddo.

This is the closest I have seen.

edit: note that the doubling also shows on the tops of the 4 & 2 which isn't present on the ddo. The picture quality dropped on my example so use the link for better quality.

T, a good thread on this variety and being leery of MD.

I did get very lucky about 3 years ago when I got 3 of this variety from this seller. His images are usually pretty good.
I kept going back looking for more (I'm not greedy) and almost bought one of these with the MD. I realized the secondary doubling at the date wasn't the same direction.
