    2010 Lincoln (Shield) Cents

Is it just me, or are these new 2010 Shield Cents really, really boring?

I'm tired of looking at them already.

The portrait of Lincoln is mushy. The shield is unimpressive.

I've found lots of seedy examples, but no real errors or varieties (note: I am looking at 2010D almost exclusively).

Are there any varieties or errors out there for 2010D, other than a really weak doubled die that only demonstrates a minute amount of extra thickness on LIBERTY?

I acquired some BU rolls early in the year, then a few more a little later, then in my first box that I acquired from Wells Fargo, about 30 to 40% of the cents (in shrink wrap plastic) were 2010D (mixed in with older dates).

Gosh, I've got a guzillion rolls of these things and I'm thinking about dumping them at the bank.

    Thanks for any comment...

I have 4 boxes my self but haven't had a chance to really look yet. If you are going to take them to the bank I'll take them off your hands. I'll be checking my boxes out years from now. I really don't care for the new look myself.

I am not impressed with them either Allan. I find more 2010s than 2009s. I would just dump them back into circulation.

I agree Allen; they are boring and poorly struck. I suppose we're stuck with this design for 2011?

I completely agree.......BORING! I too, can not find anything on these coins and they are getting to be very plentiful in the bank rolls.

I've been wondering if anyone else felt this way about the shield design. Guess my question is answered.

Boring...and unfortunately here to stay for a while. The excitement of the '09 DDRs has been countered with the silence of the '10s...

The 2010 nickels and a few dimes have begun to show in N.F. String rolls. Bought two nickel "D" rolls last night...

Well, at the risk of being laughed off the board, I don't mind the new Lincoln cents. I certainly like them much more than the railroad car reverse that we've had from '59 to '08. I enjoy roll searching and when searching rolls of the 2009 LP's, I was dumb struck as how very few gem coins I was finding, most had horrendous white milk spotting or some strange rim wear around the coin, however, the 2010 rolls I've ploughed thru so far have been by in large far nicer than any of the '09's I've looked thru. But then again, here in San Diego all we get are rolls of Denver cents, so maybe it's a Denver thing?

Am I the only one that likes this design?

It's a bird! It's a plane! Aw nuts... It's merely two die scratches!
