    1910 S grading question

How would you grade this coin I pulled from a bank bag? The rough surface looks to be a woodgrain and part of the planchet. I took closeups of the most damaged areas. Thanks, George

Would grade an AU-50 or so if it weren't damaged.

It's a bird! It's a plane! Aw nuts... It's merely two die scratches!

I agree Wendell. Is it junk as damaged?

Definitely not junk, just you wouldn't want to send it to PCGS. Try someone that does net grading if you want to slab it. Personally, I'd sell it as is. The value on a 1910-S AU details coin is rather high.

Great find for a bank roll!

XF-AU details w/ damage. $15+ would not be unreasonble.

I agree with Brad's grading. Nice find - damage hurts it, but awesome for .1¢

i agree it may be AU50 - depends on how sharp and defined the seeds on the wheat stalks are - also the obverse must have well definition of the ear. It also has details - rim damage - if you slabbed that coin it would have a detail listing on it or marked genuine. But - still a good coin
