1982 D Small Date Missing Copper Coating

Found this in a box of coins I set aside many years ago. Looks the way steel cents do afterbeing exposed for a period of time and feels lighter than normal. I think it never got a copper coating. Opinions appreciated and any guesses of a value of this.

Looks more like the copper plating was stripped off. I would suggest you contact Mike D. and get his opinion - most unplated are altered and it helps have a professional opinion.

Yup, removed plating. These are posted at a rate of about 1/day on the various coin forums. I see a legit unplated one posted about once every six months.

In general folks, these must have luster to genuine. If the surfaces are dull and crappy, it's probably not real.
