    Bronze 1943-S Found


    A previously unrecorded 1943-S Lincoln cent erroneously struck on a bronze planchet has been acquired by Rare Coin Wholesalers of Dana Point, Calif.

    nice...the other day i came across one that i thought was it. but it just had some sort of glaze on it.

      Ultimately, the old magnet trick will determine if you have a bronze/copper copy or a discolored steel cent. If the coin is attracted to the magnet, it is steel. Over the years of searching, I have found 3 1943 cents that were merely plated in copper. Gets you excited for a second until realism sets in
