Are people paying much more for copper lincolns?

Since i gave my gf the i love you stamped cent shes been a little more into cents. so i told her if she seperates the copper shed get more than face value for the coins. she separated and counted up 277 cents. I told my dealer to see what hed give me for them. and he said the rate for that was about 7.75 sand laughed at me when i wanted to see how close to that price hed pay. he said 2.77 is all hed pay cause he didnt have enough pennies in his drawer. But tonight i told my gf i found a buyer for 7.50 for the cents. and gave her 7.50 . Small price to pay but brought a smile to her face. she said she couldnt wait to get more cents to sort for copper. Could be expensive for me but i guess its worth it since it makes her happy that shes able to make money off common copper cents. The smile on her face was worth the 5.00 but should i fear her getting higher amounts of copper and expecting similar results. What you guys think? I probably should have said they wouldnt have much value but didnt have a heart to do so. but at 2 cents a coin or 3 cents a coin what does it hurt .

I think it's helped mine to understand why I do this, Crazy Hobby we call coin collecting! Enjoy!

Copper cents are selling for 2x face on ebay the only bad thing is the fee's ebay charges to sale.

I'm pretty sure melt value, if it were legal, is just over 4x face! I save em all!

To see the current melt value.

Get her to buy a box and sneek some wheats into her rolls. That'll get her interested too.
