I think the #001 is much stronger? I had posted this coin before because of the doubled "IN" in motto. I also filed it that way and forgot about the ear.LOL
Did you check any markers just out of curiosity? Like I said before, I think there is another 84 doubled ear, a minor one but yours is not minor. it looks pretty significant. I did an overlay using your doubled ear and a pic of an 84 doubled ear I had. it seems that yours is a fraction smaller but very very similiar. I would recommend you get it attributed.

Wexler lists another DDO with a doubled ear, it had really heavy polish lines if I recall correctly. That said, this is not 001 - I see something below the ear which is promising, but someone is going to have to probably see it in person; especially after the '88 that was recently found.
Rollem, you can get it attributed by mustbebob. His address is on coppercoins or send him a PM. There may be others on here too but he is one that I know of.

Are all seasoned attributors that are regulars on this forum. I would even include Jason Cuvelier who has a tremendous amount of knowledge but I'm not sure if he is attributing.
You can contact any of them either here thru a PM or from their perspective websites.
Like I said before and Jason mentioned it too, I don't think it's die #1. I realy think it would be worth the couple of bucks to have it professionally attributed. Good luck
