George, I'm not sure i'm seeing what you are seeing. If I'm seeing the outline of Lincoln's jacket on the reverse, specifically below the memorial, then it looks like a garage job because of the direction of the imprint. I don't think it's a clash, but i'm not Jason either. Just thought I'd respond with my 2c opinion while we wait for the die clash guys to show up. BTW, where has jason been lately?Rock

First Please let me say No Disrespect to none meant. I value every ones opinion at LCR that why I joined and Post everything. There is several strikes on this reverse which overlays could help resolve. Some of the outlines do appear to be on top of devices. You guys are probably right it will likely end up a vice or garage job."Good People are Great Forums"Rollem

Also, another thought...... a clash shows the negative part of the other side of the coin, the lower or recessed part is what comes thru. Your coin shows the positive side or the higher points of the other side. I'm getting more and more convinced as I think about the dynamics that this is a garage job.Rock

Sorry George. I don't mean to be confusing if I am or show any disrespect either. I love this stuff and glad you posted it. it gets my brain cells working. I love thinking thru the process with all the variables and possibilities. Admittedly, I'm not an error expert so don't feel bad about sticking to your guns.Rock

Here is an angle shot to show the incused area.
Maybe I should have included this one in the beginning.
I think the bow tie shows at the top?Attached Files"Good People are Great Forums"Rollem

Been busy. My in-laws were in town as the same time as my last few weeks of teaching (and grading) my classes. I need this vacation!
The cent in question seems to have been in contact with something corrosive as already stated. It has interesting surfaces though...

A corroded garage job, and yes George, I spent more than a half hour working on overlays for this which made me come to conlusion I did yesterday. The trouble was that i was only able to guess where outlines were and what might be incused or raised because of the circulation wear, stains and corrosion. I also wanted to see if mike and/or jason would respond any differently.
But, like I said before, if you are convinced there is something there that we are not seeing in the photos, then i really do suggest sending it to someone to look at in hand. I just think the corrosion is making it hard to see anything in the photos. Good luck with it my friend and sorry again for any confusion.Rock

I must agree with the pros... All though it appears to be a clash it is because of the corrosion/damage... Just lucky coin damage... Nice conversation piece!!!Jim
(A.K.A. Elmer Fudd)Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!
