I thought I found the 1988 no 'p" quarter last week in my change;however, when I used my 16x loupe,I noticed a very, very faint trace of the mint mark.
Could these two coins be considered a filled die strike??
I have heard of struck thru filled dies or cases of abrasion taking off or nearly taking off MMs. Some modern occurrences might be documented, but I am not certain - I know I read about a quarter, though I do not recall where I read it or the year of the coin.

TOM
In the "Strike it Rich with Pocket change" 3rd Ed there is a listing for the 1989 No "P" MM 25C. UNC $15.00 - $20.00 however back in the 90's and later they were featured as a variety an would bring $100 each. It is not considered a true die variety.
It is collected due to the history of the coin that was promoted by Harry Foreman as a variety. Nothing on the 1988 and I suspect it is a clogged die. Hope this helps Tom.
