    1943 Stretched Steelie Experiment

I went through my steelie (1943) slush pile and came up with a rusty, scratched pair (P and D).

At Disneyland, I hoped they had a "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" coin stretcher, but they have never had that one (even though I was in that venue and it had other offerings). So, I settled for "My Lucky Penny".

The mechanism went well for both, but the imprint is less pronounced than with copper or layered pennies (in my opinion).

I put the obverse up on one of them, and down on the other...

So, it worked, but not really well.

Hah!! This is very neat. Thanks for sharing this. The curiosity of how it would turn out is well worth the few cents that the dirty old steelies are worth.

Because the steel is harder the impression will not take as well... Cool though!!!

Looks like a double ear up there on the left

That is pretty neat. Something I think I'd be too chicken to try.
