I am trying to find out if this is a (WRD) Wrong Reverse Design. So please note that this is a 1989 with a possible wrong reverse (1988). Bob may be right . I will send it in for examination as my pics are not clear enough.
Will patiently await the results. Kinda funny how some said "better luck next time" while describing your coin as an amazing error! (just couldn't resist)
Wendell Carper It's a bird! It's a plane! Aw nuts... It's merely two die scratches!
I was looking at the distance between the F and the Building as a guide as well as the structure of the G. I will send this off to John Wexler for an opinion and will share the results when received. In the meantime I continue to search 1980, 1988 ,89,2009,2010 & 2011. Thank you all for posting your opinions whether right or wrong and let us await a great answer.
I'm not sure what you mean by blatant initials or another date with them can you please explain, you'll have to excuse my ignorance on the 73's.....thank you
I am also curious as to how this turns out. I fought this exact same battle not too long ago and mine was determined to be a 1989-RDV-006 when I was hoping that it was an RDV-005.

Look here: http://varietyvista.com/Lincoln%20Ce...%20Changes.htm. This shows all the memorial RDVs. 1973 comes with the largest and most in-your-face, stand-out, bold initials of all of them, and that's why I call it blatant. Just compare a 1972 to a 1973 and you should easily see the difference.
