Tons of site lurkers??

Could there be an error in the code that determines this, as it seems that there is always 55 guests or more whenever I check lately? I should check sometime in the night to see if this number stays high, as that might mean something got plus-fiftied somehow.

Lurking is not what I do really. I read these posts 5 out of 7 days per week. If I have
something to say, then I write something. I read every post that catches my interest.
80% of them I skip because I already know what certain problems or characteristics of
a cent someone asks about. So I mostly just do what I do, contribute when I want to.

I also have a couple of parked Lincoln Cent related domains that link to here as well. There might have been one or two who have used the link.
The way I see it is that cream will rise to the top. If it's genuinely good, user friendly and serves a wide purpose then it will advance and grow. Look at CC today compared to 10 years ago. LCR reminded me of a little school house in the prairie with a some devoted Lincoln cent E&V collectors teaching and learning. Today, it's almost elevated the university level with some reputable Lincoln Cent Error and Variety professors available to teach...and for free. Yep, down to earth and filled with passion for the hobby and one another.

I just looked at the homepage and it stated that there are 2 users me being one and 56 guests. Why don't we have a drive for new members?

Just looked at the "Who's Online" page. They all seem to be looking at different things, all 50 of them at 7:30 Sunday morning. I guess we must be filling a void on the net that many people have caught onto.

I've noticed the past few weeks that it appears there are lots of lurkers. I see there are over 20 viewers on the Q&A thread and only about 6 members online. Whats your alls thoughts??

I think if you font log off you are still in the statistics.

Good chuckles Roger! yes if you don't you do still show in stats. Any IP address that comes to the websites is shown in server stats.
Now if they leave and return before 24 hours has passed they will still show visiting on site and not be counted the second time. So I would say there is many more than are being recorded or reported. I stay logged in! It is a retired thing. There is other ways to report visitors and the pages they display. But the admin would have to get that information.

Yea - typing has always been tough and since I haven't typed in a while it just gets worse. That auto speller also is a pain in the dupa. It does feel good to laugh again.
