    1969-s

I have gained a great interest in this coin and over the past year I have gone through several hundred rolls.
what I have found is 8 coins with either the liberty ddo or the date, but have found 2 with ddo in liberty and date, and 1 with ddo in liberty and in.
now what I'm wondering is if these are the first coins to start ddo,or if they are the last where they were fixing the die.

I don't quite understand the question. Do you have any photos?

Just by your explanation it sounds like machine doubling. All doubled dies are formed as is and not something that gradually happens. So to be searching for the 1969-s doubled die obverse, it will look identical to the one listed. Extremely rare.

I would suggest uploading pictures of the questionable coins as its hard to diagnose any coin just by a description. :-)

Welcome to LCR rarecoins71. As Scott mentioned, you most likely have machine doubling which is far different than a doubled die and quite common on the 1969 cent. But to answer your question,no,if they "fixed" a doubled die, it would be completely gone as they would have replaced the entire die or hub that caused the problem. These are not incremental errors and the only changes you will notice will be die state (wear).
