Excellent Find and the most I found was 12-13 Indian Heads here about 2 months ago out of a $50.00 bank bag. Never found a flying eagle cent. Someone has been into someones elses collection. (LOL) Congrats!!!

Look for the DDO or the OBV die clash with a 50C. I wish I could find a bank to give up bags!!!!!!!

Here are some of the pics, The top of the obv. is to worn to see any detail. I don't see any doubling on the coin but I never looked at a flying eagle up close. I am suprised that a bank will not sell a bag to the public. The ladys at my bank were glad to do it. They just had to slide the bags to the side door, bags were to heavy for them to lift onto the counter.

Hey Clocc: I have a 1857 Flying Eagle XF-AU I got 50 years ago when I was a kid. Its always been my favorite coin. Its in my safe deposit box at the bank.

Are you saying there are some valuable varieties I should check out?

If so, I'll get it out and check and post pics.

FYI My 1952 Redbook lists it as $7.00 in UNC. 2009 has AU $200, MS60=$340. What a difference a day makes.

                      Hi:
I remember back in the early sixties - a kid found a 1856 in a roll. Made the newspapers (local as I recall).
                      thanks

They are the thick clear bags that they put the change in from the counting machines. I'v been getting them because so many people have been cashing in there change these days for extra money and some of those jars could have been sitting around for years. I do find more DDs in bags then in boxes.
