    What are they worth?

I was going thru a albulm that I have reserved for my oldest son. The 26 P is Red and 31 S has a bad scrath across the ear, the 09 is red and the 26 S is red but these are the earliest dates that are what I would consider BU. I added the 26 S and also a 1909 pictures. Any idea what there worth or are they MS quality. I know there not 67 but I am not a grader of coins. I'm just getting a general Idea of what I have for my eldest. Thank's.

Nice pictures, however it is very hard to grade coins by the picture and you must grade the whole coin. I'm not that good at grading either especially on wheats. I do know that the cheekbone on the obv and the wheatstalks on the reverse are the main grading areas. One of the best references is Photgrade or ANA Grading standards. I beliieve that is the correct name of the books. Sorry that is as much as I can say about grading. By the way NICE COINS!!!!!!!!!!!

            Hi:
I agree with Joe, Sometimes a scatch on the face - if your grading will certainly effect the worth of a coin - but it seems that grading firms look at the general fiels more than the bust of the coin. There is a 1909-s vdb on ebay that is like that - I personally would take your high grade coins and find a dealer that could send them in for grading to pcgs or ncg, etc.
            Thanks
            Roger

That 31-s to me looks like a $200 coin. Maybe a little less becuz of that scratch.Would be more without it for sure!!

Are you using your USB AM scope? If you are it very hard to get the whole coin. I take the full coin picture with my Canon camera ie: (Slab, Obv and Rev) then cut it down or fine tune on the Canon touch up program or Picasa or Photoshop. Close ups I use the USB Cam to get most of the coin and then use X3 times (power) plus double for really technical areas.

                    Hi:
Remember there are alot of 1931-s's in ms60-66 condition. They were horded. The scratch will deter most buyers and reduce the price of the coin. Check out the price guide on PCGS.
                    Thanks

Thank's Roger. These coins will stay in the Dansco until my children get older then I will start getting a up to date price on the coins. We are looking at 10 yrs. down the road. I think you may be right (less than 200. for the 31S) because of the scratch. I only paid 50. for it a couple of years ago.

I still need 2-14D, 2-09 S to complete both Danscos. The coins pictured are the nicest that I have in the 2 Books. Thank's for the comments everyone.

I would suggest showing them to a local coin dealer you trust. Ask him the grade and value. Most dealers will give you their honest opinion.

Thank's Brad. I will have to travel to Atlanta to find one. The only one around here I don't trust. I caught him trying the roll around with the fingers on one of my coins. It is very discouraging that it happened. By the way the same guy has a Ebay store if your interested in knowing. (PM me)
