I get my cents to search in $50 bags and also $25 in rolls (not bricks). On average, I pull 15-20 from the $50 bag and about 7-10 from the $25 in rolls. I also average about 10-12 Canadian from the bags and 5-10 from the rolls. Live in Norhtern Iowa so see a few more Canadians than most I think?

Wow you have good luck finding that many. I find on average maybe 2 to 10 in a brick.

Now I just grab wheat rolls when I see them at the candy shop... oops I mean coin shop.
      What's the Motto you?! Eh!

I probably average around 5-10 a box anymore. Some days there are 1-2, others there are 20+. Getting tired of seeing Canadian cents though, all the way down here in southeastern PA. Still working through a box from last week, and probably pulled around 8 or so wheats, oldest being a 1919. Been slow searching here lately.

I don't even keep track, just drop them in the "wheatie tub" and keep on searching. I do have them rolled up and a count of $50 bags so eventually I can get some statistics.

I don't keep count either. It's feast or famine with the wheats and canadians. I keep them and roll them up. I'll figure out what to do with them down the line.

              Hi
Again I don't mean to be whatever, but come on - 50 a box? Again, how big is this sample - I just can't believe it. There have some times with 50 or more but not on a constant mannner!!

I lean toward Roger's opinion. I can definitely see 50/box in a few federal reserve bricks, as someone may have dumped a bunch into a coin counter, or at their bank.

It's ok. I don't go through too many bricks these days as I have alot of irons in the fire. These past 2 or 3 I have been averaging at least 1 a roll...averaging. Sometimes I get 3-4 a roll and sometimes I get none. But on the average lately it has been 1 per roll. I think there are people rolling up wheaties and taking them to the bank. I actually found a 1910 wheatie 2 months ago in a brick. When you're hot, you're hot and when you're not, you're not I guess. I would rather be finding 1 2011P-1DO-004 per roll so I could catch up with Rock and Joe.

You are right, though in that it is very odd!

Why do you guys despise my Canadian cent so much? I was kind of set back when I read a few of your comments about that

When I search my bricks (CANADIAN), I average 2 wheats per box and about $1.50 in US. This last brick I searched I managed to find over $7.00 is US pennies and only 1 wheat. I was quite impressed with that brick. So I guess here in Canada I find an average of $48 in CANADIAN in my bricks!

Lara, no problem here with Canadian cents! I actually ordered two Harris folders to attempt filling them along with the US Cent folders I'm doing for our Grandson. Just a couple of weeks ago I even found a 2001 Canadian cent with the die chip next to the 1 in the date. I think your 1936 "Dot" cent may be on the rarity level of maybe our 1992 CAM, or the 1969 DDO!! I still need to figure out that 1965 Large Beads vs Small Beads thing though!! LOL Bill

lara,I don't think we despise them...but you've got to remember we're looking for Lincoln Cents (LCR) so I'd bet not everybody is collecting them and anything else found in a bag of supposely Lincoln Cents might be considered a disappointment to some. I do set them aside and especially like the older stuff 30's,40's ,50's. But I don't take the time to learn about them or any other cent. There is just too much for me to learn about Abe.
