    Hi Teddy,

I'll list my (christmas) top 10)want list off the top of my head, I don't know if it totals 10 or not.

    (1) 1958 DDO (I like the extreme rare)
    (2) 1922 plain (ms65+) I sold my low grade due to unemployment
    (3) 1917 MPL (Matty), thanks to talking to you I'm in love with the MPL'S (my 1917 is just a strong strike)
    (4) 1969 DDO, I've found enough strike doubled 69's now it's time to pay some bills!
    (5) 1909 S VDB (MS60+) once again I sold mine due to unemployment
    (6) 1955 DDO (MS60+) My wife and I toast for this one when we have a glass of wine.
    (7) 1970 S DDO, It's my birth year and it's a beautiful DDO.
    (8) 1944 steel planchet... any grade!
    (9) 1943 copper planchet...any grade!
    (10) WOW, I have ten with minimal thought! drum roll please.................................... 1959 Wheat back cent! Oh, any condition!

Thanks for the question and for making me really consider what I would really like.

      sweet list there lestrrr

      mine would go as follows
1)1909 vdb matte proof...to have a 1st year proof with the vdb initials on it done in an imported finish
2)1955 ddo...it's just a very profound example of ddo and famous
3)a silver wheat off metal...especially the way silver can tone...gold...more of a fantasy there
4)1916 mpl...a mastered sculpture example of the lincoln cent design
5)1964 sms...a unreleased new surface trial but legal to own with strange fields
6)1965 pcgs sms dcam...a one strike beauty of the lincoln cent all frosty with deep mirrors
7)1959 wheat...i want a mule too of course a 1909 indian wheat would drop my jaw
8)1974 aluminum....a famous off metal i'd have to keep a secret on from the men in black
9)1992-d close am...a die marriage of proof to buisness dies
10)1974 glass...this one puzzles me if what others say is true...they made them

it sure would make a sweet half box of 20..."next"

you have some sweet ones in there, I forgot about the 74' aluminum. Since you mention the glass one, Isn't that when they experimented with many different materials such as plastic? Come to think of it, I don't think I remember a glass lincoln cent! Talk about rare and fragile!

p.s. here's my 1917. Keep in mind that I'm not use to seeing such a strong strike in hand. Most of my older coins are in the VG condition. I compared it to another older coin for detail strength and the only one I have worthwhile is a 1912 which has a die gouge through the G of God which of course I've been reading about MPL's and the 1911 has this gouge. So of course the mind goes running from there. I've since calmed down and am just enjoying the coins now. Darn corrosion on the 17' though.

P.S. The dust spots are actually dust! Hey, it's been awhile!

that 1917 needs a bath is all...mineral oil or goo gone and as much as that crusty stuff took 91 years...give it a 1 or 2 year soak at least

it does have wide rims...that's a start...i can't elaborate further though as almost nothing is known of the 1917 mpl...most believe it a myth only...not i though

i haven't read any books other then the red book but i chat with some greats and ask them questions...lots

how about the 1942 thick proof in white metal (aluminum)...that's class too

Oh, don't tease me with those pics! Where did you find those?

I have a 43 D with mirror fields but the wear shows on the cheeks and the thickness is normal.

I jumped in on PCGS forums a few years ago and finally found my way back yesterday once you mentioned it. There are alot of forums out there. I love this site because it's very active on many subjects. Goo Gone has been mentioned alot here recently so I think I'll go pick some up and hope the kids don't mess with it.

I just clicked on your link and I remember this now. There's 7 pages of responses and don't feel like reading through all of them right now, Maybe tomorrow.... oops, just looked at the clock, it is tomorrow. I'll beat the kid and wife off the computer and read on it more later. Either way, UR of 7... I'll take it!

i guess some members proclaim that's a piefort...i'm clueless but read all this stuff here

it's amazing to know who some members are...stewart blay even signed and sent me that broschure pcgs made for him when he took his copper out for open viewing and i'm too poor to go

hopefully some others will drop in top ten lists for us too
