Wavy Steps Classified As DDR's By Wexler?

I was looking at his "new listings" page and see that a couple of 1993-D wavy step coins have been assigned WDDR numbers.

I thought wavy step coins were not DDR coins??

It depends on the attributer. He also has some listed in his 2nd ED of the ARLC (1994 1c WDDR-004 as an example).

It has to do with alternate theories as to how these anomalies were made. We may never know how they actually were made, so Wexler continues to list them as DDRs, which is what was concluded when they were first discovered.
