After a few days of missing the Fedex guy I finally picked up the ANACS package with the slabs.
I looked at them and then I called ANACS when I got home. I had a few questions about the results.
1. 2011P (3 of them) annodated as WDDO-002 but the sheild side is on the fron of the slab. When I asked why they didn't put the obverse side to the front, especially since that is where the variety is, they said they put all the shield cents in that way unless we request otherwise.
2. 2004P DDR FS#2004-801 (1DR-001) "This variety is not listed in a current reference" What????? I explained that it is a well established variety and listed in every reference. He admitted that they missed the FS number on the submission form and said they couldn't give an explanation. Why did I pay $5.00 a coin for Variety Attribution Verification for?
3. 2011P 1DR-001, 1-R-VI, WDDR-001 "Coin is not the requested variety" Uh.. yes it is. All you have to do is VERIFY IT.
and on and on.
He told me to send the coins back that I want fixed attention QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE with what I want and "references for the varieties" And because there is a special going on it could take up to 6 weeks. Wow. I had know idea to expect half-*** work and customer service. His excuse the whole time was that they get thousands of coins in......well, I paid my money which is as good as the next guy's. I paid for the variety verification as well. Just do your job right is all I kept thinking.
I can live with the 2001 DDO's reverse side up. I can live with the 2004 DDR just saying DDR, but the 2011 DDR-001 doesn't ackowledge it's a variety at all.
Anyway, that's what's going on so far. I have several others I wanted to slab, some nice BU 2006-018's, 1995-1DO-001, 1960D-RPM-004 etc.
But feel very reluctant. Not sure what to do right now. Not crazy about giving them another $200 for lousy work.
And yes, I sent in that 1995 DDO because it was the 1st one I ever found and sentiment took over sound logic and practical thinking.
