I could be way off on this. but this auction on teletrade today is for a 1960 small date MS63RD. the pictures look like a LD to me. I have noticed this a lot with NGC. On 1960 and 1970-s coins. Whats going with this. How do they expect us to send them something when they cant get the easiest things right.
The truth of the matter is that the TPGs are like any other employer- they'll pay as little as they can get away with for minimally experienced help... It's all about the Dollar Signs!

That's frightening. Can't even trust the slabbed coins. I have been looking at 70s small dates on ebay and about 2/3 of them are large dates.

I know all about that. It still makes me mad though that they cant hire someone that is qualified to grade and distinguish coins. Just give them a picture of them at least. I understand that the 1970-s can be hard to spot and sometimes mistakes are made but the 1960! this 2 completely different coins!!!
I'm really not as mad anymore maybe it was my lack of coffee this morning that put me over the edge!!!
Definately LARGE DATE!
Proves that 'selling the slab' is more important than 'selling the coin'.
Plus, some unsuspecting buyer may purchase it, and have to deal with it later!!

Reason: spelling change
Guys - Don't forget that coppercoins certification service will be opening within a couple of months, and we KNOW the difference between large date and small date coins, and will EVEN put "large date" or "small date" on 1974 cents (unlike anyone else).
