A recent thread discussed research on 1999 Wide AMs in reference to obverse and reverse dies. Here are some pictures of mine. The reverse has all of the clash marks normally associated with the 99 Wide AM, but the obverse doesn't have the clash mark that is typically associated.
I don't see the streaks on the obverse. Dosen't mean that they aren't there. In something I read from (I think Ken Potter) there is a clash mark to the right of Lincoln's face. I can't see it either.
I'm looking forward to finding out if there are different die pairs. I also want to find some more--purely for research reasons of course
Tom:
Check out my two posts with yours - maybe there is another die.
My two are exactly the same - one is a little sharper than the other.
Thanks for the follow up
Roger
There are 4 verified reverse dies for the 1999 Wide AM as reported by John Wexler. Ken Potter did a study on them as well. You can find that article here:
That is a really nice coin--great shape. I believe we have the same coin. With the only exception that your's is in much better shape. I'm bound and determine to find another one, but it just ain't happening.
