Did You Know? 1941 Lincoln Cents

    Hi

Some interesting facts about 1941 Lincoln Cents.

    1. It was a year of doubled dies - especially the obverse. We all know about them - I think!

    2. About 5 to 10 present of the "S" mint marks were large. I did not know this.

    3. In November of 1941, many 1941 cents, by a admitted mistake by the mint, were produced on a think planchet - I definitely did not know that!

Offcourse there were the 1mm's and other doubled dies - obverse/reverse. But I didn't know about the small/large "S," nor the thick planchet.

    Did you know?

    Thankyou
    Roger

Great year for varieties, as you stated. There are 4 or 5 very significant doubled die obverses. And the large S has been known for years, but for whatever reason has failed to catch on to the collecting community. 1928 also has a large S.
