1956-D VEDS - warning big pic

When searching BU rolls I occasionally find Very Early Die State coins. I put them aside and perhaps someday I'll figure out what to do with them. They are interesting to look at because they often have features that wear away quickly like micro-scratches and micro-cracks. Well, this evening I went through a 1956-D OBW roll and found a few examples of a VEDS obverse die that has an interesting die gouge through the date. Anyone seen this die before? Here's an image of the coin:

Would love to hear comments and especially pics showing your interesting VEDS coins.

That was a clean die that shows all the die scratches. The one in the date I'm sure will fill
        soon and disappear.

        Nice photo

Here's a higher resolution image of the area around the date. Do others on the forum save VEDS coins like this? I find them fascinating, and always hope for VEDS examples of interesting varieties, but so far I've mostly found examples of normal non-variety dies and just a couple of varieties. Again, would love to hear from folks who might also be saving VEDS coins. Pics not required!

I do put coins to the side that seem to be EDS or VEDS. I have had an idea that one day I would illustrate a number of them that represented a year that had a noticeable design change. The question, where are they? I think I put a few 1973s to the side recently. I have a DDO from the early '60s that was very early, but I have to recall which one. Thanks for posting.
