    Which 14-D is a keeper?

    Hello friends!

As usual, I found a couple of new coin stores yesterday during my travels for work.

I didn't have my 14-D with me to compare, and I saw one I liked for a great price. Hoping it was a little nicer than the one currently in my collection--and a great price, I couldn't pass it up!

When I got home and compared the two I am really torn. I like some characteristics of both--but only one can call my dansco home.

Which do you like better and why?

Is it just me or does that MM on coin#2 look wrong. Regardless, I think I would stick to #1.

I'm with you RLM. He posted this on CC and the MM just doesn't look right to me either. Coin #1 FTW, it looks right.

Dude....resize your images, I have to scroll left-right....I hate that. LOL

I agree...and usually just skip the posts with huge pics.

Coin #1 for me too. Looks smoother and in nice shape.

I definitely vote for coin #1 as well. I think it would qualify for a vf-20 grade if you sent it in to a TPG. The fingerprint on coin #2's obverse is pretty distracting, however I think it has a slightly higher technical grade. Both coins are pretty darn nice and I would be happy with either one. I think the mint mark on coin #2 looks weird due to distortion of the photo. Perhaps a better shot of this would tell us more. Thanks for posting those!

Send them both to ANACS. Keep the higher graded one, and if one is a fake, you will know.
