A Doubled die for every year!

Hi everyone, I have come up with a cool idea. Lets start with 1909, and go untill 2012 (if any one has any) and try to post a doubled die for every year! Of course, there are some years without Doubled dies, but we can post errors on those days. I want everyone who has a DDO/RPM for that year to post it. We will start on 9/21/2012. Mods, if you don't like the sound of this, pm me. Can't wait to start seeing double!

Good idea. But like vitamins, dates should be limited to "One a Day."
That way we wont lose track, and there will be three months of fun filled posts, with many forumites posting their wares. Ddos, ddrs, rpm, etc.
You can be in charge, and officially announce the current year we're on in a separate post.

Seems plausible. You may end up with a few days in between posts, as you're dependent on the members to have and shoot something. Opening it up to RPMs in certain years would help. The years from 1910-1933 are going to be tough for doubled dies - yes, there are some big ones in there, but also years with little to nothing.

Is this going to one thread - or a post per year? What happens if there is more than on submission?

Ok, So here are the current propositions-

#1, we create a new thread for each year

#2, I post which year we are on.

I think we should have one thread for wheats, one for memorials, and a very brief one for shields.

This could be really fun and interesting. Now, I don't want this to get out of hand. Nor do I wish to see it get going, then fizzle out.

Why don't we do this, let's start with 1927 and go forward. We can go back and deal with 1909-1926 later. One thread per year. Wait until a submission or two go in before starting the next year. Two pictures max, per person, per variety. Lincoln cents only - UNLESS - two to three days go by and no one can find a Lincoln cent, but have another denomination - and the member ASKS before posting.

1) No questionable submissions. It is not an attribution section. IN other words, don't post something unless you are 99% certain what it is.
2) One thread per year.
3) Each year is finished, one way or another, before another is started.
4) Once we move on, do not go back.
5) Don't make the threads discussion heavy.
6) Only Lincoln cents.
7) Varieties or significant errors only. (DDOs, RPMs, double strikes, strong clashes, major trails, etc.)
8) NO machine doubling - NO die chips - NO die cracks - NO die wear - NO greasers - avoid lamination errors or MADs unless they are extreme.
9) Two pictures per variety MAX (unless members ask for more).
10) Don't submit something minor (just because you have the discovery coin).

My only question, why start with 1927? Why not 1909?

The tough years of 1910-1924 could just stall it out. If there is a precedent set, and examples from 1927-2012 finished, I think we will see those earlier tough years dealt with.

Id much rather see this go from the beginning to end 1909-2012. One variety year per day with everyone sharing their knowledge. No rules or limitations except that it has to be a legit variety and you have to post in order.
What we'll have in the end is a virtual museum.
Even if it will be a little crazy, the mods can "clean it up."
